Hi I click on form submissions and expect to be able to create a form, but there is only the ability to read form submissions which is empty because of no forms have been created. I would like to create a custom form for my contact us page, someone know how to do this ?

A Custom Form is a control type. You go to a page, click on Add This Control Type, select the zone where you want to put the Custom Form Control Type and add it. The you go to that zone and that control and click EDIT. Then you can create the questions, etc.

I am so sorry for the confusion I am refering to submission forms. Is there a control for me to create a user subbmission form, my email settings are all set and working so how do I create the form for user input. I was looking around yesterday and came across a section that allowed for check boxes etc. but I can not relocate this section of the admin panel any longer ?

Custom forms ARE submission forms. So when you make a custom form that is what you set up to allow people to submit information on your site. The FORMS SUBMISSION section is where you can see what Custom Forms have been filled out and submitted to you.

O.K. I am not looking for a dam debate, I did not ask what was what, I am simply looking for the location of this control so that I can build my dam user submission form. If you don't want to help me locate this tool, control, form or what ever you want to call it fine. But here is something interesting read the very beginning of your replies and read the 1st it reads: (A Custom Form is a control type) and the 2nd reads:(Custom forms ARE submission forms) if your going to play desktop support get your chickens all in a row. Sorry if you don't understand where I am comming from perhaps it is culture differences !

hi dbarselow, I don't think jmw was arguing with you, he was trying to explain how to add a form control to your pages. I'll try to reitterate and elaborate on what he is said.

There are custom form controls which you add to your pages. A custom form control is a control that allows you to create a form that will display on your page. You can have as many forms as you want on as many pages as you want. When a visitor to your site submits a form on your site that form submission will show up in the form submissions tool (all form submissions show up in this tool). The form submissions tool is not used to create forms (only to view submissions made by your visitors).

To add a custom form to a page, go to the page manager for any page of your site and add a "Custom Form" content control to a zone on your page (the same as you would add an html control to a page). Once you have added a custom form control to your page, click the edit button next to the control, this will take you to a tool where you can configure what form fields you want in your form.

here's a screen shot on how to add a custom form: http://www.tandemserver.net/files/image/AddingCustomFormControl.png

Are you kidding me! Where do you get off being so rude to someone who is trying to help you. I apparently was annoying you with my attempt to help? I have been using various forums for years and I have never had anyone react like you have, simply because you couldn't understand instructions? I did tell you where the custom form was "You go to a page, click on Add This Control Type, select the zone where you want to put the Custom Form Control Type and add it. The you go to that zone and that control and click EDIT." Perhaps my mistake was not giving you step by step instruction on "going to a page". I figured you at least knew how to do that. I also did not give you step-by-step instructions on what you should do after you "click on Add This Control Type". Again I thought you already knew how to do that.

It would have been sufficient to have said "I'm sorry, I don't understand your instructions can you make them clearer?" but don't kill the messenger it only puts a spotlight on your ignorance.

You are right, there is a culture difference. In my culture we don't curse or insult the person who is trying to help. So now I'm going to switch to your culture. You apparently are too stupid to understand instructions. I gave you step-by-step instructions on how to add a Custom Form, which is also a submission form and which is also a control type. You create a custom form by adding a custom form control type to a zone on whatever page you want to add it to. After you create the Custom form and it is used by someone then it becomes a submission form. That will be the end of my unpaid desktop support.

BTW, your arrogance is only exceeded by your rudeness and stupidity. You also don't seem to understand how forums are used. We help each other and we don't insult each other. ITMT, you should learn at least two things: how to behave on a forum and how to program. There is an old saying "Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and it annoys the pig."

Another BTW, you misspelled the word "damn" and the word "coming" so it may be that not only can you not spell you also cannot read.

Alan,
You are far more understanding than I. However, it is not that often that you have to draw a picture for someone. I know that in the past I have not been able to figure out how to do something is TS and it has taken a few emails between us for me to finally understand what I needed to do. But I don't think I have ever insulted you because I couldn't understand you.

However, that was good picture you created. I hope it will do the job.

If you hadn't inserted all the caps in your second reply I guess I would not have got my ... lets say gander up in a roar one more thing the word are since when did that needed to be capitalized so don't try and tell me you weren't being rude all a person has to do is read the order of the messages. I looked in that section this morning and no it was not in there. Let me add this this, this morning I had to use a password that I had to get through a reset from TS, but get this when I accessed the logon I changed the password. So this morning the changed password should have worked but it didn't! and like I just replied to Alan I have to go through the same old stuff again. I have been around the asp,net for along time developing apps. just type in the dbarselow and find out for yourself I know when I am making mistakes and when I 'm not, and I also know how to read when someone is being rude behind the desk ! but none the less the hachet is buried as far as I concerned. Best wishes.

I was not trying to be rude I was trying to empasize the ARE. I don't know of any other way to do it. I've received many emails where the sending used that same technique and it never once got my "male goose" in an uproar.

I have numerous sites using TS and I have never encountered the password problem you are having.

BTW, I did Google dbarselow and not one app bearing your name was found. As you know I sent you a private message discussing this with you.
